It's a Good Fight
Living from 1 Timothy
Listen as you read along.
It’s full-on spring here in Northern California. Fluctuating between the low 50s at night and hitting the 80s in the day. Our rainy season is most likely over, and we will soon lose the beautiful green hills. In California, the hills turn golden. I’m not buying that, but Crystal and I do reminisce about the lush green of summers we spent growing up in the Midwest.
We have told our family that if they move from California, we will beat them there, wherever they go. But, in reality, that’s not completely true. California is a wonderful state with many amazing and beautiful places. It was once said that as California goes, so goes the nation. That may still be true, I’m not sure. What is certain is that we don’t want to leave a good fight.
Many have left California because they felt the demise and frustrations of our government and moral standards. They went to other states in the hope of finding a better life. A place where costs aren’t as bad, and the lifestyle at least has some leanings toward reality. BUT...
Who’s going to stay and fight? Who’s going to pray for the release of this move of God we have been promised? I believe it’s a choice and a calling to stay. We all have battles, right? We all have choices the Father sets before us, which brings me to the end of this post.
The Charge to Timothy Renewed
18 Timothy, my son, I am giving you this command in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by recalling them you may fight the battle well, 19 holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith.

This why Robin and I are staying, Byron: we feel called to be here. Three years ago while driving home from the east bay toward Stockton and on the 580 between Dublin and Pleasanton, I looked from side to side and said to myself “this must have been something in it’s heyday.” With no pause and as if someone was replying to my comment, I heard “stick with me; you’ll see it again.” It was Holy Spirit.
Each and every person has a battle they are called to as we, Father’s sons and daughters, establish His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.
For you
And for all
Grace and peace
Wisdom and understanding
Discernment and knowledge
As we walk in the destiny
Father has prepared for us.
Shalom
