We are making a concerted effort to get to know our neighbors. We’ve hosted a few casual dinners and some backyard get togethers. Most of the time, neighbors have very little in common except for where they live, and that’s true of our neighbors too. But by connecting on a small level and a regular basis, we’ve made some great friendships and feel more connected to our new home.

I am reminded that our friend Julie said, "brian, if you're too busy it's not God's fault."

BTW, just had breakfast with Julie and Michael. You would have loved to being there, and we would have loved having you.

Hey friend. I meet folks in my neighborhood (mainly across the fence) and through volunteer work (coordinating a free popup health clinic quarterly). I also find indispensable my long time connection to a local church and the regular small groups that spun from that - coffee with Curt and John every other week, Thursday breakfast with the retired guys, life group once a month, breakfast the second Saturday of the month with prior members.

Brian, great to see you here. You are a busy dude! Can I break this down a little to understand? If I read correctly, it seems that, besides regular church, you are connecting through opportunities to join or be involved (ie; volunteer work, Thursday Breakfast, etc.).

A f2f would be wonderful!

I've been pondering this question lately, Byron. It takes intentionality to go beyond a smile and wave and actually get to know people. I'm working on connecting with others too, specifically over a meal together.

Lisa, the table has proven to be a wonderful place to connect.
